In the first month, I lost 30 lbs, which was very encouraging and gradually the knee pain and inflammation subsided. My mood stabilized and elevated, I also slept better at night. I then began walking for 20 minutes and gradually increased it. Today I walk 6-12 km daily about 4 to 5 times/week. I added light weights and resistance bands to tone up and add muscle.
